WE HAVE BEEN SPECIALISTS IN RAILTOURS FOR OVER 50 YEARS.

The Society runs, usually on a monthly basis, day or half-day tours, using preserved steam engines and wooden carriages from QR's heritage fleet. These engines and carriages are owned and maintained by QR for charter for special excursions. Tours operate to a range of destinations including Toowoomba in the west and the north coast. Long distance tours to other areas in Queensland also operate on an annual basis. For details of our latest tour, contact us.

The various Tours operated by the Society are the most public, but worthwhile events operated by the Society. Many Tours are hauled by QR's Heritage Fleet of Steam locomotives, using QR's Heritage Fleet of Wooden Coaches.

The Society has had more than 50 years experience in running in excess of 860 tours.

A number of special tours over the years have been operated to commemorate a certain event in history, such as 100 years since the opening of a specific line.

You may also be interested in the Iron Road Restaurant which uses the sole remaining timber bodied Dining Car in which meals are served. These are served while passengers experience the ambience of a by-gone era as the train travels around the suburban area.
