The railway to Redcliffe was finally opened to Kippa-Ring on 3rd October, 2016 and has since been served only by electric trains. Here is your chance to travel to Kippa-Ring by a 2000 class Silver Bullet rail motor, departing from Roma Street and picking up passengers at Northgate and Lawnton. It is believed that this will be the first time passengers have been able to travel to Kippa-Ring other than by the normal electric trains. From Kippa Ring we return to Lawnton then go for a quick run up the North Coast Line as far as Glass House Mountains, making a lunch stop at Caboolture on the way.
A definite timetable has not yet been received from Queensland Rail but the departure from Roma Street should be about 9.45am with the return somewhere around 3.30pm. Confirmed time will be advised when ticket conformations are posted about 2 weeks before the tour.
Adults $81.00; Pensioners/Seniors $77.00, Children $60.00
RFRESHMENTS: Cool drinks, chips & sweets will be on sale.
SMOKING: Queensland Rail has a policy of No Smoking on board all trains and at all railway stations. In accordance with that policy smoking is not permitted on board and passengers are advised to observe any areas in which smoking is prohibited at stations.
