BB18 ¼ 1079 has been in continuous service with QR since 1956. Officially being "withdrawn" from service in October 1969, it was retained by QR to run steam excursions. Later after the closure of the Redbank loco museum, 1079 was joined again in service with the last mainline steam loco built, 1089.
