On the ARHS special excursion to Warwick, Wallangarra and Inglewood in 1988, Beyer-Garratt 1009 experienced some problems upon reaching Warwick and was replaced by QR DEL 1769D which hauled the train to Inglewood and return. Here 1769D is rolling west through the loop at Thane, on its late running to Inglewood.
