Operations
The numbers have picked up slightly for the February and March running days with the numbers being 59 and 57 respectively. Our steam engine driver for a day program commenced on the 27th March with two participants completing the program, there are several more participants already booked in over the next few months. In the February report I accidentally mixed two numbers around in the contact number for the tours office, so just a confirmation that the number to ring if anyone is interested in participating in the program please ring Ray at 3252 1759.
There was also another Red Fred charter run during the month of March.
Maintenance
As usual there has been more sleeper replacements happening in the last two months and it has been encouraging to see this occurring however our track gang is in need of more helping hands to keep on top of the required maintenance.
C17 720 has had its annual boiler inspection during the month of March with the boiler inspector giving it a clean bill of health with its condition having not changed since last year. With proper maintenance and regularly checked treatment levels the boiler should last us many years of service.
